A new species of Brunfelsia (Solanaceaes), a magical plant of the Upper Amazon Indians

Abstract

Among the several hallucinogenic drinks made by The South American Indians, a new species has been recently raported by R.P. Tastevin. This plant is cultivated by the Kachi-naua from the Rio Jordaô region and is called Keya-honé. They used this drink for magical purposes and serve to cure all kind of illnesses. It is now identified as Brunfelsia Tastevini.
