In the seeds of Piptadenia peregrina Benth. Fish and coll. were able to detect N,N-dimethyltryptamine, 5-Hydroxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (bufotenine) and the corresponding N-oxides. They found another alkaloid which, due to its optical properties, they did not identify in a closer manner as 5-hydroxy-tryptamine derivative.
