From the leaf of Lespedeza bicolor var. japonica was isolated as a secondary alkaloid, and N,N-dimethyltryptamine, lespedamine, bufotenine, 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine, N,N-dimethyltryptamine and 5·methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine N-oxide and 5·methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamin N-oxide were found in the root bark.
