Myths and Legends of the Amazon and South American Relatos subheads Arturo Burga Freitas his book "AYAHUASCA", thus defining its contents, which comprises vigorous pictures of Amazon life, where the author, who is Peruvian, has personally chosen the material of his creations. The first part of the book contains some forest legends, with the author's exegesis, and in which the folklore of the Peruvian mountain assumes expressions of a wealth perfectly comparable to the environment that originates them. Burga Freitas collects them with fidelity and affection, giving them colorful literary form and on more than a splendid occasion. So, "Under the Heaven of Chamas" and "The Huancahul", are two excellent works in which the prodigious fantasy of legend has been admirably preserved.
