If drugs are also popular in a part of the youth, it is because they provide them with a quick solution, in accordance with the standards of technical society. Many are therefore looking for a way to “go beyond space coordinates (leak) and time (escape)”. It is about escape from the boredom and alienation that haunts the so-called “Bof!” generation.
The goal is to dive into the bottom of the infamous abyss, according to the poet, to find new. Unfortunately, efforts often lead to additional alienation in the form of another slavery. For many, it is despair and death.
In total opposition to this hopeless path are the promises of He who frees, who offers freedom (Jn 8:32), and life in abundance (Jn 10:10) and peace (Jn 14:27)… and no longer bored in his room! In addition, the Word promises knowledge (1 Cor 13:12), eternity (Jn 11:25) and the fruit of the tree of life (Revelation 22:14), rewards not without analogy with the demands of the goddess drugs. However, the delights of spiritual experience do not buy themselves at the price of a trip. They are rather the grace offered to him who seeks God by obedience to his Word, praying and sometimes fasting. If this “method” sometimes seems less exciting, it has the enormous advantage of being safe!
