Plant socialization modes in the Peruvian Amazon Shipibo-Conibo - A study of human-non-human relations in social construction.

Abstract

As for the concrete impact of human-non-human relations on the social organization, it allows access to understanding of human relations and is being played at several levels. In fact, an individual dimension is distinguished between the mode of socialisation, a dual dimension between men and women and a more collective dimension concerning the material aspect. The individual aspect covers the preferred way of socialization by the Shipibo, by the incorporation of plants from the prenatal life of an individual to his death when his soul is driven by smoke of tobacco, through his love and marital life with the use of noi rao philtres.
