Analysis of the book : O uso rituall da ayahuasca (B.C. Labate and W.S. Araujo, editors 2002, 686 pages - When we finish reading the ritual use of the ayahuasca, the diversity and complexity of the phenomenon, both as regards the variability of ritual uses and socio-historical contexts to which we are presented, and the modes of seizure, description and analysis of these uses by science, particularly anthropology, medicine, psychology and pharmacology are evident. In this sense, this publication achieves its objectives: it presents a rich picture of research developed over the 25 articles composing volume, contributing to a better understanding of the phenomenon from local logics, the relevance and significance of those involved in their ritual uses.
