Abstract

At a time when indigenous communities try to enhance their traditional knowledge in nature in general, plants and medicine in particular, their knowledge has become a source of coveted knowledge of agri-food companies and pharmaceutical laboratories. In short, it is a question of acquiring a bread bite the result of collective and millennium work to make the maximum benefits of it as quickly as possible by incorporating them into Western biotechnology. We have already spoken here about the "native gene hunting" (cf. DIAL D 2045) led by North Americans in Latin American countries. In the new piracy we are talking about now, one of the many forms of economic domination of the rich North countries over the poor people of Latin American countries.
