A 43-year-old French woman died Monday, apparently accidentally, in a tourist cottage in the northern Amazon of Peru, judicial and diplomatic sources said Wednesday, as the press called into question a use of the hallucinogenic plant "ayahuasca". The tourist from the Paris region, whose identity has not been revealed, was staying with her companion in the Pongo area of Canairachi, 650 km northeast of Lima, where police warned by the eco-tourist cottage found the death, said the Pongo prosecutor's office.
