Abstract

This article discusses the ways in which the Katukina, of the Pano linguistics family, conceive the learning process in the context of shamanism. It is also a goal to associate the modes of learning to the sources to which the Katukina attribute these modes of knowledge. This article, under the framework of a discussion in Amazonian ethnology about an assumption of the predominance of vision or hearing in the learning process and to gauge the veracity of knowledge, aims to insert questions relating to types of knowledge and perception from reports and direct observation in shamanic rituals performed by specialists, as well as the specialized bibliography.
