Abstract

This article deals with the diaspora of the St. Daime through its musical dimension. The European Union has also made a number of points to the international expansion of poultry, neopenteroctalism and Afro-Brazilian religions, which are the transnationalisation of Saint Daime within the broader movement of Brazilian religions and South Global. This is why we discuss the ritual role of music and the religious hymns of the immistry, who are considered as holy gifts and represent an important pillar of rituals. The authors describe and reflect on how hymns are singed, translated and interpreted in different countries and contexts. They argue that cohesion and transnational networks are produced and, on the other hand, resignifications and conflicts. These discussions invite us to the debate on the ritual use of psychoactive, the relationship between music and religion and the concepts of tradition, authenticity and sacred.
