During the 19th century, a new discipline began to creep between botany and ethnography; a field of research that was involved in collecting and studying the knowledge of tribal populations in the field of plants. The first attempts to define this field of investigation were already seen in the early 19th century, in full development of botanical and ethnographic disciplines throughout the globe.
