Micro-dosing is an increasingly widespread social phenomenon among the consumer and consumer community of the so-called psychedelic substances. It consists of one-tenth of the typical substance dose (mainly LSD or Psilocybin) frequently, two or three times a week, to enhance cognitive capacity or self-therapy. The analysis of this phenomenon is currently very fragmentary and inconsistent, both in the humanities and in the so-called “hard” sciences. The objective of this article is to present the results of a first historical and ethnographic work on this subject, while at the same time discussing the thesis that frequent consumption of small doses of hallucinogenic mushrooms is a common practice among the traditionally linked peoples to the use of such substances.
