Our study aims to be the first controlled pharmacological study of ayahuasca in humans undertaken in a Western country and with local volunteers who are familiar with its consumption. It will ensure the safety of the experimental sessions as far as possible and will permit the study of the pharmacokinetics at increasing dose levels, central neurophysiological and subjective effects, tolerability, and peripherical effects of the preparation.
