The research providng the present data was conducted for a total of 14 months in 1956-57, 1964 and 1969, in the following river valleys occupied by the Jivaro. I went to study their way of life and I was most fortunate, at that time, to find, especially east of the Cordillera de Curucu, a portion of the Jivaro still unconquered and still living, with same changes, their tradditional life style. This book is about their cullture.
