This pictorial documents contain a number of design motifs - patterns of ornamentation or decoration among the Indians of the Colombian Northwest Amazon. These Tukano Indians depict their hallucinatory experiences. This book is concerned with the origin, nature, and possible significance of these designs. This publication, however, is not concerned with so-called psychedelic art, nor with the primitive art as such. It deals with ethnographic descriptions, mythology, and the ritual use of certain hallucinogenic plants.
