Abstract

We now know that 1) the synthetic enzymes and substrates are present in eNS tissue for the production of DMT, and 2) a binding site is present to react with the compound, and 3) the compound may be found in both human cerebrospinal fluid and isolated synaptic vesicles from rat brain tissue. Further evidence to suggest DMT as a candidate for putative transmitter status is the biological and electrophysiological activity of the molecule.
