The following species of Banisteria was detected while identifying a small collection of Malpighiaceae made by Mr. A. 1VIilesMoss in Brazil. The new name Parabanisteria may therefore be proposed as a substitute for Euheteropterys Niedenzu, with Banisteria laurifolia L. as type.
