I’m pleased to disclose that an impressive number of representatives from ayahuasca retreat centers around Iquitos, including Melissa, Ian, Tatyana and myself from our own Pulse Tours and Ayahuasca Adventure Center, met on Saturday, February 6, 2016 to discuss how we can work together to create the safest and most secure shamanic healing environment for our collective guests. Sadly, the motivations behind this meeting were in part due to the few recent and tragic deaths revolving around the medicine work in 2015. While none of the deaths were attributed directly to the consumption of ayahuasca, there were other factors involved which could have potentially been avoided should a level of cooperation and discussion between ayahuasca retreat centers like this had begun prior to the incidents.
