Abstract

The cause of death of Mr H. was attributed to a defenestration under the influence of two hallucinogenic substances, ayahuasca and psilocin, whose consumption probably caused major hallucinations with psychotic episode or transient dissociative state. If the consumption of these molecules is democratized via the internet, as evidenced by the presence of many hallucinogens at the victim’s home, the ayahuasca/magic mushrooms association is not described in the literature or advised on user forums, probably due to the structural analogy between DMT and psilocin, which increases the risk of serotonin syndrome including hallucinations and psychotic states (Kaasik H, et al. J Psychoactive Drugs 2021;53:65—75). It is therefore necessary to be vigilant about the risks involved when combining several hallucinogens.
